The Houghton Lake Eagles got it start on February 23, 1964. This is when the Aerie received its charter and was founded by a group of 72 men. The Auxiliary received its charter later that year on December 6, 1964. The Auxiliary was founded by 41 women.
What is the motto of the Eagles? *People helping people*
Did you know that the Eagles was the main force behind there actually being a holiday for Mothers? Every Mother's Day you can thank the people in the Eagles clubs that pushed to get Mothers a national holiday in recognition of all that they do.
The Eagles also takes pride in having appropriate recognition of Memorial Day. The Houghton Lake Eagles sponsors the Memorial Day and like to make sure that our veterans know that they are very much appreciated.
Throughout the year we help many local charities including Project HOPE, the animal shelter, the local schools and libraries and much more.
Want to get involved??? If you are already a member make sure you come to a meeting to see what you can do to help your club and your local community. Auxiliary meetings are the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month.
Know someone who might want to get involved??? Give them an application and make sure that they understand just how wonderful the Eagles club is.
